FAQs

Cheese Q's

Can I freeze the cheese?

Yes! All of our products can be frozen for up to 6 months without any adverse effects to the texture. We recommend keeping it in its original packaging, but plastic/reusable wrap and/or freezer storage bags will work as well.

How long is the cheese good for?

All of the products will have a sticker with a Best By Date on them when purchased. Our wedges are dated for 11 weeks out and all products in tubs get 4 weeks. Once opened, we suggest consuming all products within one month.

How should I use the cheese?

You can freeze it and shred it for a pizza topping.

You can mix it in with pasta and veggies for a quick creamy sauce.

Use it as a spread to liven up a veggie wrap.

Add it to your favorite salad.

Mac and cheese!

And of course, the old stand by: cheese and crackers.

If you have already paid for the upcoming delivery then your order has been processed and any edits you make will not be applied to that order, only future orders.

Shipping Q's

I just signed up. When should I expect delivery?

All orders excluding Virtual Gift Cards are fulfilled within 7 days of purchase. At checkout, an estimated delivery date is provided.

You will receive a shipping notification once a shipping label has been created with a tracking number to track it's journey to you. All boxes ship via FedEx.

*We reserve the right to alter shipping days in the event that they fall on a holiday. Any alterations will be communicated in advance.

How can I track my order?

When a shipping label for your order is created, you will receive an email containing your tracking number. Your order will ship that day or the next delivery day.

For example, you placed an order on Thursday. We will process and pack out your order on Friday but it will not ship out until Monday afternoon.

I'm tracking my order and it's delayed. Will the cheese still be ok?

More often than not, a single delay does not mean that your package will arrive warm.

Please wait for its arrival and reach out to chris@darevegancheese.com if there are any issues with your cheese once it does arrive. Please include pictures if possible, as this will help expedite the resolution process.

Why is the cost of shipping so high?

When you’re purchasing one of our perishable products, it needs to be sent to you quickly. Overnight rates are expensive across all carriers and we have found the most economical shipping platform for perishable food. We extend this same price to our customers.

How are your shipped products packaged?

All of our products utilize recyclable containers so go ahead and put them in the recycling bin after you've enjoyed the cheese!

We ship our orders in insulated boxes with gel packs that will keep the box at refrigerated temperatures for quite a long time. We thoroughly test them in all seasons across all climates.

My gel packs were not fully frozen upon arrival. Are the products food safe?

It’s normal for the gel packs to be slightly melted by the time they arrive. They release cold air into the box as they melt. The insulation we use keeps our boxes (and the contents within) at refrigerated temperatures for a long time. We’ve thoroughly tested them in all seasons and across all climates.

The cold air does dissipate quickly when you open the box though, so you should transfer your products to the fridge immediately.

Products should arrive at a temperature of 41 degrees Fahrenheit or below. If your products arrive above this temperature, please discard and contact our Customer Experience Team.

How do I recycle and dispose of packaging material?

Boxes - Break down the box and place it curbside with your recycling.

Insulation - Green Cell Foam provides the most flexibility and convenience in disposal options of ANY packaging material - going far beyond just recycling.

Cut open the panel and recycle the film. The panels themselves can be composted, dissolved in water, or used as a fire starter!

Gel packs - The gel packs are non-toxic and reusable! The contents of our gel packs are made of a non-toxic polymer and 99% water. You can dispose of them in the trash.

To avoid clogging your pipes, please don’t put the contents of the ice packs in your sink or toilet. If you’d like, you can also donate them locally to a Local Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts of America.

We’ve worked hard to find effective shipping methods that aren’t wasteful. If your town doesn’t recycle certain materials, or you’re interested in other options, check out Earth911.com for a list of recycling facilities near your area.
