It depends! Some companies rely on refined oils, preservatives or saturated fats to make their products. But Darë uses only whole, probiotic-rich ingredients that are thoughtfully prepared by hand, in a way that tastes and feels great.

Nut-based cheeses like ours contain protein from their core ingredients, like cashews. However, vegan cheese is generally not a primary protein source. Think of it as a delicious, functional food for flavor, joy, and gut health, to be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet.

The short answer: quality and craft. Our artisanal vegan cheese are made from premium ingredients (like fair-trade cashews), a slow, hands-on fermentation process, and ethical labor practices. We never cut corners with cheap fillers, which is why our cheese is a premium, but worth-it, product.

100%! Everything we make is fully plant-based, vegan, and free of dairy. From wedges to desserts, our products are all made from a base of cultured cashews and coconut.

All of our products are dairy-free, gluten-free, and soy-free. However, they do all contain cashews and coconut. While we can guarantee there will be no cross-contamination of dairy, gluten, and soy at our facility, we cannot do what we do without the use of tree nuts. Always check the ingredient list on each product page for the most accurate info.

Absolutely. That’s because we use live cultures just like traditional, dairy-based cheese makers do. That’s what gives all of our cheeses that signature tangy, umami, cheesy flavor you know and love.

Yes! All of our products can be frozen for up to 6 months without any adverse effects to the texture. We recommend keeping it in its original packaging, but plastic/reusable wrap and/or freezer storage bags will work as well.

All of the products will have a sticker with a Best By Date on them when purchased. Once opened, we suggest consuming all products within one week.

Yes! And here's the cool science nerd reason why: our fermentation process produces a sour environment that inhibits spoilage-causing microorganisms, preserving the food naturally.

Yes! Here’s how to recycle and dispose of packaging materials:

Boxes: Break down the box and place it curbside with your recycling.
Insulation: All paper construction can be recycled with the shipping box.
Gel packs: The gel packs are non-toxic and reusable! The contents of our gel packs are made of a non-toxic polymer and 99% water. You can dispose of them in the trash. To avoid clogging your pipes, please don’t put the contents of the ice packs in your sink or toilet. You can also donate them to a Local Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, Girl Scouts, or Boy Scouts of America.

We ship Darë products to all 48 contiguous states and Alaska! So, if you reside in the USA, and you don't live in Hawaii, we can have products delivered to you.

The delivery window for our carrier is from 8 AM to 8 PM on delivery day. You must be open and able to receive your product at the time of delivery.

As soon as your order ships, we'll email you a tracking number so you can follow your delivery's progress and see its estimated arrival date.

We use an insured shipping platform that guarantees delivery by the end of the next business day. If your order does not arrive by this time, we can file a claim on your behalf for a full reimbursement.

FedEx and Darë Vegan Cheese cannot be liable for any interruption of delivery service due to a cause beyond its control, including but not limited to, the absence of a person or their refusal to accept the shipment.

We deliver to Asheville, Fletcher, Hendersonville, and Black Mountain on Wednesdays. Orders must be placed by Monday 5pm.

We deliver to the Asheville area on Fridays. Orders must be placed by Wednesday 5pm.

The minimum order is $100; orders smaller than that will incur a $20 delivery fee.

We ship via FedEx Express Monday - Wednesday. Orders placed after 8am on Wednesday will be shipped on Monday.

We ship FedEx Ground Wednesdays only. If you'd like to utilize Ground Shipping rates, please submit your order by Monday 5pm.
