Why Goat Cheese? (And Why We Made It Vegan)

Goat cheese - also known as chèvre - has been a staple of Mediterranean diets for centuries. It’s known for its signature tang, creamy texture, and slight funk that plays beautifully with sweet or savory pairings. Traditionally made with goat’s milk (obviously), chèvre is often considered easier to digest than cow’s milk cheese due to its lower lactose content.

But for the fully dairy-free among us? That’s still a no-goat-zone.

That’s why we created Oh My Goat: a vegan goat cheese alternative that nails the bright, cultured flavor of classic chèvre using only plant-based, real-food ingredients. No artificial fluff, no animals harmed—just good taste and good vibes.

A Plant-Based Frittata Worth Waking Up For

Unlike egg-based frittatas, this vegan version starts with a silky blend of tofu, hummus, and almond milk for that custardy texture and subtle richness. Turmeric gives it that sunny golden hue (plus a little anti-inflammatory boost), while nutritional yeast brings umami and B12 benefits to the party.

Top it with juicy tomatoes, caramelized onions, and crumbles of Oh My Goat, and you’ve got a dairy-free brunch recipe that feels like a reward.

This Vegan Frittata Is:

- Dairy-free, egg-free, and gluten-free

- Packed with plant protein

- Easy to make in advance

- Great for meal prep or a weekend brunch

- A vehicle for your favorite toppings (fresh herbs, avocado, arugula, you name it)

RECIPE

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Serves: 3–4

Ingredients

Frittata Base:

1 package firm tofu, rinsed, patted dry, and lightly pressed

1/4 cup nutritional yeast

1/4 cup hummus

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk

1/8 tsp Himalayan sea salt

1/8 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp ground turmeric

Toppings:

1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced

1/2 cup cherry or grape tomatoes, halved

1/4–1/2 cup Darë Oh My Goat, crumbled

Directions

Preheat your oven to 360°F. Lightly grease a small baking dish with avocado oil or line with parchment.

In a food processor, combine tofu, nutritional yeast, hummus, almond milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and turmeric. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.

Spread the tofu mixture evenly in your baking dish.

Top with red onion, tomatoes, and crumbled Oh My Goat.

Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the edges turn golden and the center is set.

Let cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing.

Serve warm with fresh herbs, avocado, or your favorite toast.

Leftovers? Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat slices in the oven or microwave as needed
